From hazelnut shell to premium briquette
Every year, hundreds of thousands of tonnes of hazelnut shells go to waste worldwide, left over from the harvest. Bioak processes these shells at its factory in Giresun, on Turkey's Black Sea coast and the world's hazelnut region, into high-grade briquettes. No tree is involved: we work with a residual stream that would otherwise be burned or thrown away.
